Taking some time for herself, Reese was spotted out and about in Brentwood, California two days ago (February 25).
The “Sweet Home Alabama” babe paid a visit to a friend’s house before doing a little retail therapy at the Brentwood Country mart and Malia Mills boutique.
And of course, Reese was looking cute and casual in a black half-zip top with black stretch Capri shorts and white sneakers.

The night before, Miss Witherspoon was spotted having dinner at Pace restaurant with agent/rumored boyfriend Jim Toth.

Bradley Cooper has pulled out of McG’s next film, a romantic comedy called This Means War. According to EW, Cooper was forced to make the decision due to scheduling conflicts: The July start date for the Fox romcom overlapped with the start of The Hangover 2. Reese is still attached, but not yet officially signed, same with McG. It is possible that this film might completely fall apart again. Fox has had this one for a long time; it was originally intended as a Martin Lawrence film, and a number of directors have been attached over the years.
The movie revolves around two best friends, inseparable since childhood, that fall in love with the same woman (Witherspoon) and go to war against each other. THR says the “ensuing battle escalates to mammoth proportions, with New York City demolished in their wake.”

Reese has filed for divorce from Ryan Phillippe, citing irreconcilable differences, PEOPLE has confirmed. Papers were filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

In the court papers, Witherspoon, 30, asks for joint custody of the couple's two children, Ava, 7, and Deacon, 3. The actress also seeks physical custody of her kids and that Phillippe, 32, be granted visitation rights.

Witherspoon also requests that the court not grant spousal support for Phillippe.

A rep for the couple first announced their separation on Oct. 30.

Though Phillippe hasn't commented on reports that he and Australian actress Abbie Cornish (who costars with him in an upcoming film) had a relationship, he issued an exclusive statement to PEOPLE on Wednesday, saying, "I'm not a perfect person, but I’m not guilty of a lot of the things I have been accused of. My priority is and always has been the health and safety of my family." Reps vehemently deny other allegations of hard partying and drug use.

Deadline says that Christoph Waltz is in talks to join the cast of “Water for Elephants.” Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson are already set to star in the adaptation of the bestseller by Sara Gruen. Francis Lawrence is directing.

The story is set during the Depression, with Pattinson playing a veterinarian student who joins a tattered travelling circus, and falls in love with the star performer, played by Witherspoon. Waltz would play Witherspoon’s mean animal trainer husband. Sean Penn was rumored for the role, but that apparently didn’t work out.

Waltz was a barely known but working German actor until Quentin Tarantino cast him in “Inglourious Basterds.” Now Waltz is the heavy favorite to pick up a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for that performance, and is a hot casting choice in Hollywood these days. The “Elephants” role would be his third bad guy in a row: the “Basterds” role, a turn as the villain in Seth Rogen’s “Green Hornet,” and now the man who would be cruel to Reese Witherspoon. Undoubtedly Waltz should capitalize on his moment in the sun and take the best parts offered to him. But I have to wonder if he’s telling his agent, “Oh yes, and if you run across any nice comedies…”

And with that, the dream cast for The Real Housewives of Hollywood is complete. Now all we need to do is get these five dynamic ladies to the Ritz for some tea and crumpets and wait for the fireworks to begin! Kapow!

Mom to Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6, Witherspoon quietly split from actor Jake Gyllenhaal, 29, last December.

After the nearly two-hour meal – for which Toth picked up the tab – the couple walked outside and parted ways around 11 p.m. "Reese reached around his neck and pulled him close for a hug," says the onlooker. "They kissed bye on the cheek – but it was a very friendly goodbye."

Witherspoon is a CAA client, and a source close to the actress maintains the night out was just business. But a friend of Toth's says the evening was "a date," though "nothing serious." The handsome agent is known as a ladies' man: "He's enjoying the single life," says his pal.

Well the moment I began watching movies with Miss Reese, she caught my eye. Hands down, she´s one of the bests actresses on the world with the best personality and the most passion. She was incredible, still is. I googled her, youtubed her, everything internet-search-of-her. She is the only actress I've ever cared that much about and I still care that much about her. And I really believe I always will. I think she's got such heart. There are some fantastic fansites about Reese and I want to make another one. She definitely deserves it. But sorry for my mistakes, cause I´m hungarian.
